People demand a 'Market Bus' linking local Shopping Centres
A meeting of local people including Pensioners, the Disabled, and countless non-drivers demanded that our transport supremos get their act together and provide direct and frequent Bus Services from near their homes to local Super-Market shopping areas.
It is surprising that in major parts of London like Tower Hamlets no provision is made to tap this huge area of demand from local people who risk life and limb daily crossing busy roads to get to their main shopping areas.
Direct short hop links and Services to Market places would not only help to stimulate local Business but would provide a much needed service for the Disabled, Pensioners, visitors and many thousands of people who don't have Cars.
It would also provide an alternative choice for regular car users, no one can deny the attraction of guaranteed frequent direct shopping buses to local Supermarkets, it could help to reduce traffic congestion and pollution, especially at peak hours.
It is especially in the interest of local Businesses to provide funds for such a service because it would greatly increase their intake. So come on 'Transport For London' stop worrying where the money's coming from and just give the people what they want NOW!!!
